We are Christ’s Church of The Golden Rule, the 15 full-time members of which live, work and worship together at Ridgewood Ranch in northern California as a part of the training for our Church’s ministry. This Church was formed in 1944 by a group of people interested in living together in a community for the purpose of proving that Christ Jesus’ Golden Rule is applicable to ALL aspects of everyday life, and who thereby embraced the example of Jesus’ followers as described in Acts 2:44 of the King James version of the Holy Bible: “And all that believed were together, and had all things common.”
The basic principle of our Church is The Golden Rule – doing unto others as we would have others do unto us, and of giving with no thought of getting, no thought of personal reward. For those who mean to live a life of this kind, and who are sincerely determined to prove the far-reaching effects of abiding by such a principle, our Church provides a means for them to do so, and provides avenues for useful expressions of service and labor. Living The Golden Rule always means action. It never means just thought alone. We believe that selfless service is an essential activity for the achievement of Our Vision.
A world free from want, with liberty and justice for all, and with understanding love toward God and one another. This day’s work is dedicated to the end that we may prove that it is more blessed to give than to receive and that it is true that “giving does not impoverish nor does withholding enrich.”
Our daily mission is to make a practical demonstration of applying Christ Jesus’ Teachings and The Golden Rule within our church group, the greater community and the world. We try our best each day to provide a working model that shows that The Golden Rule can be expressed in every facet of daily life and that by so doing, harmony and equality can be achieved.
